Description

Muntjacs are a type of barking deer that are native to Thailand and other parts of Southeast Asia. These Muntjac- humxn hybrid’s represent a dancing union between the humxn and animal world and duality in general.

The pieces were made from the remains of a steel tower that was dismantled on site, and plywood strips saved from a previous years’ stage installation from the festival. New steel for structural members were donated by a local steel recycling center in Thailand.

This piece was commissioned by Wonderfruit Festival for their 2017 event. It stayed up for many following years, until the festival found a new location.
